The Process

Take Stock

We begin by looking at where you are on your jewelry collecting journey. Whether you have an inherited collection or just a few pieces, I note what you currently have to understand what you love, what needs a refresh, and what’s missing. We discuss your style, your values, and your challenges, and we identify important moments in your life that you might want to honor with birthstones or other symbolic elements. I capture your ring and wrist sizes for future reference.

Discover

Time to browse! We go shopping to try things on and gather inspiration. This can be done together or separately, going to retail stores, private showrooms, jewelry fairs, and/or antique shops. I also build a mood board in collaboration with you to identify new designs that would bring joy to your jewelry box. We agree on and prioritize your wishlist by pulling from independent designers, vintage sellers, and other retailers as well as creating custom designs if needed.

Acquire

This can take a few forms. When the time is right, I work with a specifically selected private jeweler, independent designer, or wholesale manufacturer to bring your dream piece to life, or I source the perfect vintage find and ensure it’s edited (i.e. resized or repaired) to fit your needs. If a loved one is making the purchase as a gift for you, such as a parent or a spouse, I can work directly with them to ensure this process begins well in advance of a milestone or other gifting occasion so that lead times are not an issue. I also maintain active links to purchase any pieces that captured your eye in case you or someone in your life is ready to pull the trigger at the last minute.

Integrate

Your beautiful new piece is delivered to your doorstep, and we discuss how to style it with the rest of your collection. I document this information with photos so you can always look back and reference our styling notes. Then, we discuss what (if anything, no pressure) you want to add next!
